Here we go with ACCEPT Breaker the third album from this long running German band, the band are starting to get even more metal with this album. Taking some lead from ACDC and mashing it in with Judas Priest this is always going to be a winning formula. A lot of people see Accept as being a precursor to thrash metal, at this point I’m not seeing it. It kinda fits in better with the NWOBHM without being from the UK.<\/p>\n\n
The album opens up with “Breaker<\/b>” and then “Starlight<\/b>” and from the onset this is instantly more coherent than their previous two releases. This is glorious out and proud heavy metal. The way it should be. Third song “Run if You Can<\/b>” keeps it going in fine style. Great chorus on this one too… it really gets you singing along. I’m really loving everything about this album so far, UDO’s vocals are sounding angrier than than they’ve sounded previously and the guitar tone has really been sorted out rather well. Things slow down a bit for “Cant Stand the Night” not a bad song but it really heats up for “Son of a Bitch” with the obligatory curse words thrown in. While I don’t think it would be considered too much these days it would be interesting to see where this stuff sat back in 1981 with the censors or music distributors.<\/p>\n\n
Side two opens with “Burning” with a suspiciously Chuck Berry riff but the energy is there so no matter. It doesn’t really fit in with the rest of the record but no matter. “Feelings” is a bit of a funkier number from the lads but great rockin’ vibe. “Breakin’ up Again” is rather cheesey too. It’s a shame because the first half of this album is really good, and the second half just feels like the wheels have fallen off. “Down and Out” picks up again <\/p>\n\n
Over all this is a pretty cool album, but i do feel it looses it in the second half a little. Defs worth your time to check it out though and hey there’s some classic material in the first half!<\/p>\n\n\n
