{"id":1937,"date":"2026-06-30T02:25:31","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T02:25:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metalhed.com\/?p=1937"},"modified":"2026-06-30T02:25:31","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T02:25:31","slug":"kreator-pleasure-to-kill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metalhed.com\/?p=1937","title":{"rendered":"KREATOR Pleasure to Kill"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Here we go with the second <a href=\"https:\/\/metalhed.com\/?p=883\">KREATOR<\/a> album Pleasure to Kill from way back in 1986. It was a few years after that that I heard it, but when I did the teenage version of me loved it instantly. This is a great thrash record and probably my favourite or most cherished release of theirs.<\/p>\n\n<p>The album opens up with a neat little guitar instrumental and then straight into the thrash attack of &#8220;Ripping Corpse&#8221;. I&#8217;m going to hazard a guess the band didn&#8217;t have a full grasp of the English language at this point but the lyrics as broken as they were stuck in your head rather well. This is brutal thrash and &#8220;Death is Your Saviour&#8221; and &#8220;Pleasure to Kill&#8221; just keep it going in fine form. The last track of the first side &#8220;Riot of Violence&#8221; hints at the more progressive direction this band would take in future albums.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The second side kicks off with the very infectious song &#8220;The Pestillence&#8221; and the &#8220;Carrion&#8221; and &#8220;Command of the Blade&#8221; in which the listener is taken on a journey of thrash metal brutality. When listening to this it&#8217;s hard to imagine the album is barely over 30 minutes, but hey&#8230; in that 30 minutes they&#8217;re probably playing a lot more notes than many other bands squeeze into a 50 minute album. and finishes off with the anthemic track &#8220;Under the Guillotine&#8221; which on completion leaves the listener very satisified with that feeling of eating a great meal. <\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p><p>Again this is bringing back some great memories and if you&#8217;re ever in the need for a straight down the line thrash hit, this is the stuff to mainline!
