Malevolent Creation The Ten Commandments is a monster of death metal! This absolutely blew my mind when I first bought it as a kid. I wish I still had it 🙁 . I’ve never been one to sell much of my collection so I probably lent it out and forgot who I lent it to. Ahh well. Thanks to youtube I can still enjoy it.

The album starts off with a suitably creepy burial sermon and kicks into the unholy blasting of “Premature Burial”. These guys mean business. I remember this being leagues ahead of most death metal bands at the time (with the exception of Morbid Angel) and listening to it now still brings a bit of a tear to the eye. Not much has come along since that really equals this in terms of heaviness or brutality. I can still remember this album track for track it seems. “Remnants of withered Decay” is up next and it gets even faster than the opening track. Malevolent creation at this point had mastered the art of writing exceedingly heavy songs whilst still making it memorable, with great guitar riffs that pop out and memorable vocal choruses. This brings up the question, why did these guys not get bigger than they did? They were musically superior to most death metal bands and had some rather infectious tunes.

The classics just keep coming on this one “Mulitple Stab wounds” just destroys and then later in the album one of my all time favourite death metal songs “Thou shalt Kill”. This album just slays almost every other death metal album ever! There is nothing bad I can say about this album. There is nothing I can even think of that needs to be improved. It is almost perfect standing alongside albums like Morbid Angels “Altars of Madness” and “Leigon” by Deicide. The only thing I can do is ask you, dear reader to give this album a listen on youtube and enjoy!
