Nunslaughter Hells Unholy Fire

Despite forming around 1985 and releasing and unbelievable amount of EPs, Singles, Demos and Split releases Nunslaughter Hells Unholy Fire is the first release from the band from 2002. The songs are picked from various releases and re-recorded so they sound more consistent.

The songs are basically a cross between death metal, and grindcore with punk sensibilities thrown in for good measure. The songs are short, sharp and too the point with some very easy to digest riffage that you can sit around and slam beers to. The lyrics are the flat out blasphemous fare one would expect from a band calling themselves Nunslaughter, it’s a little on the corny side but oh so much fun.

With this release I don’t think there’s much point analysing individual songs. I tend to think you either like Nunslaughter or you don’t. If you like one of these songs you’ll like the rest of them.

I quite like Nunslaughter and the unique way they do things like limited edition releases, retro releases rehearsal releases and what not and when they toured Australia in 2003(?) the show was one of the most metal things I’ve seen to this day. What comes through rather well with this band is the fact they are all die hard metal fans. This is music made by fans that live and breathe the lifestyle, not classicly trained musicians
