This is one of those releases I came across by accident as a teenager. Released in 1991 this American band really slayed. The minute I put this on the record player I knew this was something special. This is technical death metal from when the scene was still in its infancy. I feel musically this was well ahead of most of the bands peers except maybe Death and Morbid Angel. Released on then new label Nuclear Blast records this one largely flew under the radar and as far as I’m aware the band released one other album then folded, to forever fade into obscurity. It’s a shame too as the band really kicks ass. They had chops, well beyond most of the other bands at the time, and awesome sense of timing and some really tasty solos. I really think this is one band that if they’d had a a little more luck, maybe a a couple of higher profile support slots or something they could have been a much bigger name in the death metal scene.
The only thing I can do is ask that you give this a listen with open ears and enjoy what is a really cool album from a very promising band. I really hope the lads at least went on to play in other bands, and this kind of talent wasn’t left or forgotten.
